HTCは26日、同社が世界的に販売するHTC Desire、Nexus Oneのディスプレイを従来のAMOLEDから、ソニー製Super LCD（SLCD）への変更を正式に発表し、あわせてSLCDの特徴をプレスリリースで公開しています。

SLCDへの乗換えが噂されるようになったのは、6月後半ごろのことで、韓国で発売されるNexus OneにはAMOLEDではないというXDAでの情報から明らかになり、その後、The Korea Heraldの報道でSamsung製AMOLEDディスプレイの供給が間に合わず、HTCへ別のディスプレイを搭載していることを契約しているということが明らかとなりました。その時紹介されたのがソニー製のSuper LCDです。

この件、Nexus Oneに限らず、同様に3.7インチのディスプレイを搭載するモデル（HTC Desire　HTC Incredible）においても同じことになるとも指摘されていました。

そして先日、カナダのTelusが近日中に発売するとされているHTC Desireのスペックページには、しっかりと「Sony Super LCD TFT」と掲載されていたことから、これまでの噂が現実となったというわけです。

さらについ先日も、ソフトバンクがX06HTを販売を今後中止し、TFT液晶搭載のHTC Desire X06HT2を発売する発表をしたわけです。この時点ではまだソニー製ディスプレイを搭載しているとは触れられていなかったのですが、今回のHTCの発表と、Telusの件をあわせればX06HT２にもソニー製のSLCDが搭載されるということが容易に想像できます。
